It was may of 2025 when the Arlington avenue bridges & wingfield park was closed for construction, may 5th to be specific. The wingfield park is beloved by many, you could imagine how disappointed many of us locals were, some tourist were pretty upset too. There were times the wingfield park was accessible during the first few months before preparing for the demolition & assembly of the southern bridge on Arlington avenue. If you're unaware what the northern bridge looked like weeks before demolition, that's it bellow.

Most of the northern bridge was constructed before the end of 2025, even the 2 overlooks on the northern bridge were installed before 2026. I was there when I witnessed the exact moment the second overlook touched the northern bridge. Now if you're wondering what the heck a overlook is, it's a piece of platform that protrudes from the sidewalk of bridges. You may notice how older bridges have no overlooks, making them a bit crowded when a tourist or local wants to stop & take in the scenery.

I'm not writing a blog about overlooks though, this is a blog about the bridges current status & I'm happy to say it looks like construction may be over soon. The expected time is around the end of may or early June, I'm confident that timeline is right. I mean look at the bridges today, they started to add the tar to the road, going as far out as the road that is not gated off. Just take a look at these photographs below, you tell me what you think. Do you think that it'll be done between late may & early June or do you think it's sooner or later?
